Kitchen Woes

So over a year ago I got sent a link to a darling kitchen that was made out of an old entertainment center. It got my craft bug hooked on the idea, but I didn't know when I would have time to make it a reality. Well at the first of the year when I realized that Tessa's birthday was coming up and I didn't have any idea what to get her, I finally bit the bullet and searched until I found this beauty. At first I just sanded all of the surface with my husband's belt sander and then painted two layers of "cabbage patch" green. Not a good idea, while glazing the kitchen my fingernails keeps making scratches in the surface and peeling off paint. I soon realized to my dismay, that I was going to have to sand the entire surface again (both layers of paint, and the layer of original stain) and start over with primer. Some frustrated days, a few cans of spray paint, some vinyl, and some cute kitchen acessories and I got the cutest (in my opinion, only because sanding was a pain in my butt) kids kitchen around. Let me know what you think and for those friends/family around, you can now send your kids over to play!

The framed green paint is actually chalkboard paint for a message center.
