Spring Break

Pama and I drove the kids all the way down to Phoenix to see their cousins for Spring Break. We got to break in Pama's new car, and enjoy some sun. It was a great time. It was even warm enough to go swimming, and play outside everyday. One of the big highlights was when Uncle Matt took us up in his airplane to see the lights at night. The boys loved it.
We also go to see how manipulative Rylee is. On the way home, she got woken up and started screaming in her car seat. By the sound of her screams, we thought that she was in major pain. I pulled over and let my mom drive so that I could try to calm Rylee down. Nothing was working. So I got her out of her seat for just a minute to try to help her stop, and do you know what happened next? As soon as she was on my lap, she looked at Pama and started giggling. What a stinker. So when I turned her around to put her back, she immediately arched her back and started screaming again. I am not sure what is going to come when she gets older, but it's a good thing that we think that she is so cute.

The Birthday Girl

Well, Rylee is now one! I can't believe how time really flies. Her birthday was on Saturday, but we had her party on Sunday after church. Everyone came to support her and have great hamburgers and hotdogs for dinner. Jason and Ivy were here too, but had to leave before any photos could be taken of them. Rylee was just about the funniest one year old I have ever seen. She got so excited for her gift and just loved the jewlery that Ryan and I gave her, and the new baby from Pama. When it came to eating the cake, she picked at it with her hands for just a few minutes, and then decided that it was too much work to do that, so she leaned over and started eating it like a dog. We just laughed and laughed. She could definatly tell that the party was for her and she was playing up every second of it. We are so lucky to have such a cute girl in our home. We love you Rylee.

Last Easter

So I had to give a talk in Sacrament today about the Savior, and I chose to focus on the love that he has for us. I was reminded about that neat talk by Elder Bednar on the Lord's tender mercies and it took me back to last Easter when Rylee was still in the hospital. She had been there almost two weeks and still didn't eat on her own, which was the only thing left to conquer before she could join our family at home. That morning was my sister Carly's homecoming in Sandy and so it was the first time that I wasn't able to be with Rylee at the hospital. After church I called the nurse to see how she was doing and was told that although it took 30 minutes, she ate 30 cc by herself. (1 oz.) I got off of the phone and started crying because I knew that the Lord was watching over her and that he loved me. It seems like yesterday when she was born, and next Saturday is her birthday. Time just keeps going faster and faster.

Easter

This year we tried a new idea that Pama gave us. Daddy called the Easter Bunny on Saturday morning and asked him to come to our house that night so that Sunday could be just about Jesus. He came while we went out to eat at Wingers, and the kids were pretty excited when they got home. They were finding eggs so fast that I couldn't even keep up with my camera, so photos of grabing the eggs didn't work that well. Rylee didn't understand all of the fuss and just wanted to go to bed, but there is always next year with her.
The kids also got some new clothes for Easter, and I have to say that little boys in suits is just as cute as little girls dresses. They loved being just like Daddy. I don't think that I will have to beg Tyler or Eric to wear these. The dress that Rylee is wearing was my favorite thing that I bought when I was pregnant. She looked so cute, but hated the dress because she can't walk on her own and it is too long to be able to crawl. Oh well, beauty is sometimes uncomfortable.

Tithing

There are some days that being a Mom is filled with special moments and glimpses of Heaven. We have been teaching our boys about Tithing and helping them understand what the money is used for. After we gave them seperate piggy banks to keep "savings" and "tithing", they got really excited. A few days ago Eric found some money (a few coins) and wanted to put it into his bank. I explained to him how much would be going to tithing and how much would be going to savings, and he replied by saying that he wanted all of it to go to Heavenly Father. I was proud of him for understanding that it is a commandment, and his willingness to do it made me smile. My children are a constant reminder of why we are on this earth and I love them.

Tyler's Amazing Skills

I came home from Costco today and Ryan had just taken the training wheels off of Tyler's bike, he then went out to the circle to teach him how to ride. In a matter of 5 minutes, Ryan was back in the house wanting me to come and see. Tyler picked it up fast and this is the results. I am proud of him being so courageous. Last time this year, he would only stand to the side of his bike and push it while chasing after all of the other kids. He is awesome!!!

Family Photos

So we got these photos taken last year after Rylee was born and I just now remembered about them. These are some of my favorites.

Bathroom

Well we finally got our bathroom completed. I am very excited that it is done, and I think that it looks fantastic. Now our hope is that when it is time to sell, people comment on how nice it is, not how small it is.

Car Accident 2

Okay so I forgot to tell something funny that happened during the whole accident thing. When the Sherriff arrived to do the accident report, he had Ryan get into his truck to give him information. Well I was watching the kids and Eric and Tyler asked what he was doing with Daddy. "Was he going to jail?" I couldn't stop laughing. The cute minds of kids.

Car Accident

So as you can see from these photos, Ryan and I got into a little car accident on the way home from the cabin. The truck was coming up the hill too fast and we both knew that there would not be enough space on the road for both of us so they hit the snow bank. Unfortunatly, Ryan had to tap the brakes in order to not hit the truck head on and in doing so the weight of Ryan's trailer caused us to fishtail a bit and slam into the side of the truck. So now, once again, I am without my cute car and have to hope for a good rental in the process of getting this one fixed. I hope that it happens soon so that I can have my car back. We all are okay though, thank heaven for that.

A night out with Ryan

Last night Ryan and I went to dinner at a fantastic Brazilian Steakhouse called Braza Grill. It was so nice to go on a real date with just him. Before dinner we exchanged gifts, and I suceeded in surprising him for the second time in our marriage. I gave him a new IPOD since his was stolen at work, and he gave me a card of money with the promise that when I choose to spend it to go see Jodi, he will take care of the rest. I have such a wonderful husband who knows what I need! So Jodi if you are reading this....I got you for Valentines!!!!

Valentine's Day

The kids were pretty excited to find out what they got for Valentines. My mom and I are taking the kids to Arizona to see their cousins. Eric immediatedly said, "But that will take a long time to drive, and we would have to have a sleepover." I told him that he was pretty smart, and that I am pretty smart too, because Ryan and I are giving the kids car DVD players so that we can make it the whole way! I am just looking forward to some sun without seeing any snow! (Sorry Ryan)

Chicken Nuggets

As most of you know, Eric is quite a picky eater, and this is something that is frustrating to me at times. While I was at Costco a while back, Eric told me that he would eat these dinosaur Chicken Nuggets if I bought them. Of course I did, because getting something in him that even resembles a type of protein is a good thing. Well he is a little OCD and took forever to eat FIVE chicken nuggets. (I think it was about 1 1/2 hours to be exact) All he would do is nibble on the outside edges until they were gone. I told hime that I was going to take a photo of him, because he turned into a mouse. I think he just was excited to have his picture taken. I love him, even if he is a silly eater.

Bathtime Excitement

I love babies in the tub!! They get so excited for the water. Maybe it's because they spent nine months swimming in their own personal pool!

Amazing Ryan!!!

So I need to do a little bragging about my awesome husband. This winter has been a bit long for me because I am not much of a winter fan, but he loves it. Everytime it snows, it is like it is Christmas all over again. Well he knows how much I am missing my flowers and the sun, so when he went to the store two nights ago, he came home with some flowers. I asked them what they were for and he said it was because he knew that I missed mine. He is incredible and thoughtful. I love him.

Water Loss

As you may have heard, a main water line broke in Ogden last week and caused around 4500 homes to be without water for 3-4 days. We were one of the lucky ones to be included in that number. Fortunatly for us, we had already had a trip up to the cabin planned, so we didn't go without for too long. I was thinking about this and it made me realize how important it is to be prepared for emergencies. We know that we are going to expierence "signs of the times", and sometimes I think that we think it is always going to be huge clamaties that we will expierence. Not having running water was pretty crappy, and I know that it was in a small compared to what is to come, but it is times like these that I am greatful for a prophet who counsels us to be prepared. Although I couldn't shower, we never went without a drink.

Rylee in the Tub

Rylee loves her bathtime. She gets so excited to splash and play, in fact, it is hard to keep her from jumping into the tub as soon as it starts filling.

Pretty Sunset

I looked out my window this evening because I saw some pretty colors from the sunset and saw something kind of strange. In the sunset was this beam of light that when straight up. I couldn't really explain it so I took a photo, unfortunately it was much brighter in person, but you can get the idea. (Think "Beam me up Scotty")

Ponytail

Okay, so I know that I might have gotten a bit prematurely excited to do her hair, but this is pretty funny. I was able to get a few strands into a ponytail holder. Surprisingly, she just sat there and let me do it. I don't know if it was because she was sitting on the counter and could see herself in the mirror. She is pretty entertaining though.
I had a friend in my ward today tell me that during Sacrament, all she does is watch me wrestle with wiggly Rylee and then feel bad for me. She is one busy baby, and church is a big challenge. At least I am providing entertainment for the ward, and it goes to show you that you should always be on your best behavior, because you never know who is watching.
